The Martelli Hotel, housed in an old palace which belonged to the Medici's, is situated in the historic center of Florence, just a short walk from the Duomo, the Uffizi Gallery, the city's most important museums and from the Santa Maria Novella railway station. It is believed that Caterina de Medici (1519-1589) slept in room number 47 on her visits to Florence. Some of the interior spaces, such as the lounges and breakfast room have maintained their original Florentine style with antique furniture and splendid wall frescos, others are instead furnished in a modern style respecting the traditional elegance of the hotel. The property also offers a baby-sitting service subject to charges. Small dogs are welcome at an extra charge.
